Subprocessors

Last updated September 2026

“Subprocessors” are the trusted third-party companies we use to run Appearify. Each may use your information only to provide its service to us, under contract, never for its own purposes. We do not sell your personal information.

Who we use

  • StripePayments and subscriptions (merchant-of-record processing).
  • SupabasePrimary database, authentication, file storage, and application backend.
  • VercelWebsite and application hosting, delivery, and background/scheduled jobs (scans, sends, follow-ups).
  • ResendTransactional and product email.
  • TwilioText messages (SMS) to you about your own account, where you opt in.
  • Google PlacesLooks up the public business you choose to measure.
  • DataForSEOCollects Google’s public search and AI-answer data, and Gemini’s answers, about the measured business.
  • OpenAIAn AI assistant we query on your behalf (ChatGPT).
  • Google (AI Overviews / AI Mode)An AI assistant we query on your behalf.
  • PerplexityAn AI assistant we query on your behalf.
  • AnthropicAn AI assistant we query on your behalf (Claude), and separately the model that reads the collected answers to identify which businesses were named. It never scores anything — the reading step only picks out names.
  • Cloudflare (Turnstile)Bot and abuse protection on our public forms.
  • Google AnalyticsMeasures traffic to our own public website — which pages are read, and the trade and city a page is about. It never receives your business's measured results, and advertising features are switched off.
  • BetterStackUptime monitoring and status page.

Named ahead of use — the Answer Line

When the Answer Line goes live it will answer calls forwarded from your own number. We are naming its vendor here before the first call is answered rather than after.

  • Twilio (Voice)Answers a missed call forwarded from your own number, converts the caller’s speech to text so we can take a message, and speaks the assistant’s replies. Not active. No call has been answered and no caller data has been handled. This is listed before the feature is switched on, not after.

The call is not recorded and no recording is stored. It is transcribed as it happens so we can email you the message — which means the words of the call pass through Twilio while the call is live, even though nothing is kept afterwards. We would rather say that plainly than let “no recording” imply more than it means.

Alternates configured but not used at launch

We hold a SerpApi account as an alternate source for public search and AI-answer data. It is not wired into the product and handles none of your data today. If we activate it, we update this page (and notify DPA customers per the DPA) before it handles any data.

Affiliation

We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to OpenAI, Google, Perplexity, Anthropic, or any AI company. We name them only to be honest about who we ask and who helps us read the answers.

Hosting and changes

Appearify and these vendors process data primarily in the United States. At launch we serve US-addressed businesses. When we add or remove a subprocessor, we update this page; business customers under a Data Processing Addendum receive advance notice per that addendum and may object as it provides.
